I’ve wanted to be a dietitian since I was thirteen years old. My 7th grade home economics teacher made the most influential connection for me, which was the relationship between our health and what we eat. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to learning all I can about nutrition, dietetics, health, and performance.
As an active kid who danced, played softball and field hockey, and ran track, I also became a gym rat. I always wanted to be a fitness instructor, but my rigorous science coursework limited my time to become certified. Once I completed my undergraduate studies and dietetic internship, I started my career teaching group fitness classes and couldn't get enough. Today you can find me teaching reformer Pilates and training at my local CrossFit box for my first Hyrox event.
What began as a fascination with food, its relationship to health, and the impact it has on movement, evolved into much more. Every step of my career has been guided by a genuine passion to help others while continually improving myself. I combine clinical expertise with real-world training to create meaningful impact in my clients' lives, developing both mental and physical strength that enhances everyday living. As a dietitian, fitness instructor, educator, and parent of three, I bring a holistic approach that honors the balance between scientific expertise and real-life application.
Ready to bring evidence-based nutrition education to your workplace or conference?
I'm passionate about empowering your audience with practical wisdom they can implement for lasting results. In my workshops, I break down complex concepts into actionable steps that help people optimize their health, build strength, and support their active lifestyles. As someone who lives the principles I teach—both as a dietitian and as an active individual — I connect authentically with diverse audiences while delivering valuable content that cuts through the noise of nutrition misinformation. Speaking engagements can be tailored for your workplace lunch-and-learn, upcoming nutrition conference, community groups, guest lecturer in schools, or at your local gym.

The Basic Dietitian practices medical nutrition therapy, often with an emphasis on therapy. As food is more than something to eat, many non-food considerations are discussed during visits and as they relate to your unique health history. Food is connection, energy, information, and medicine – and we cannot proceed with a personalized food plan without acknowledging what influences your food intake. Most visits also discuss physical activity and aim to balance your energy in (e.g. your diet) with your energy out (e.g. your physical activity). The Basic Dietitian can also provide personal training opportunities for both CrossFit and Pilates modalities.
-
The Basic Dietitian believes in just that – the basics. Any healthy meal pattern should include variety, balance and moderation of nutrients. There is no “one-size-fits-all” or dogmatic approach to eating. Nutrition is also dynamic and nutrient needs change over time and in accordance with the body’s needs and your current health status.
